On 25th September, STARLIGHT was represented at the CERIS Annual Event on Research for Fighting Crime and Terrorism, organised by DG HOME in Brussels, Belgium.
Our partners, Lt. Col. Jan Stehlík from Police of the Czech Republic, and Filipe Rodrigues from Policia Judiciaria, participated in a panel discussion alongside representatives from European law enforcement agencies. The discussion highlighted the important role of law enforcement agencies in security research and innovation.
Our colleagues highlighted STARLIGHT's collaborative approach through CODEV cycles and pilot activities to ensure that the tools developed are practical and meet the needs of frontline officers. This model guarantees that research outcomes directly address real-world policing challenges, enhancing the safety and security of our communities.
The event reinforced the importance of practitioner involvement in security research, laying the groundwork for stronger collaboration between research initiatives and law enforcement.
