On May 22nd and 23rd, we attended this year’s Security Mission Information and Innovation Group (SMI2G) event in Paris. Here we collaborated with innovators and practitioners from across Europe to advance security research aligned with Horizon Europe's Civil Security for Society Work Programme.
On the second and final day, we participated in a panel discussion on AI, the AI Act, and its implications for research. The panel featured STARLIGHT experts, including Prof. Dr. Marco Gercke from the Cybercrime Research Institute, along with representatives from the popAI and ALIGNER projects.
The event was enriched by keynote speeches from Nicolas Bessot of DG-HOME and Professor Babak Akhgar OBE from CENTRIC, along with several project presentations. It provided ample opportunities for networking, consortium building, and discussions on the uptake of innovation.
Together with our partners, STARLIGHT continues to provide expertise, support innovation, and explore collaboration opportunities within the evolving security landscape.
We extend a big thank you to all the organisers for their efforts in preparing this event, and we look forward to future editions.
